Hi- I'm Susie! Welcome to my little corner of the world. Thanks for stopping by. Here's a little bit about me!

I started playing violin at an early age. My momma groomed me to be a classical violinist. She should have known better that wasn't really going to be a reality. I toured with a lot of youth symphonies and was a featured soloist. What people don't realize is that during the rehearsals, breaks and intermissions, I wasn't practicing my material, I was jamming to Foggy Mountain Breakdown, Stairway to Heaven or any Beatles tune. You can say, I was a rebel. I would hide in my closet and play bluegrass. It was not until I studied with Jazz Violinist, Randy Sabien, who introduced me to a world of improvisation that my world changed.

 

 Violin has always been my first love and my forever love. I started out freelancing at 13 doing pit orchestra; then that led to recording sessions and wedding work. When I became adult I ended up in the legal field and getting married. When my marriage ended, I took a re-evaluation of my life. I was not happy with my life or the person I was. I prayed to God about it and made a decision that changed my life forever. I asked myself what makes Susie happy? I loved performing, teaching, and weddings. So I developed a website and "Susie the Wedding Fiddler" was launched.

 

The best thing that has ever happened to me. I am like the Taylor Swift of the wedding industry. My clients book me 1-4 years in advance. I also have a strong passion for teaching so I design my schedule around my teaching. I teach in 3 schools and do a variety of online/Skype lessons.

 

I am also a utility artist, so when professional acts come to town or need a fill in, I provide them service whether its a live show or in the studio. I have done a lot of celebrity weddings; cable shows and commercials.
